Hornets win back to back weekend games

It didn’t take the Alliston Junior C Hornets long to set the tone of their Friday (Oct. 6) night home game against the Orillia Terriers. At the end of the first period the Alliston team was leading 6-0.

Steam take win over North York

The Tottenham Steam won their fourth game of the season when they hosted the North York Renegades on Saturday (Sept. 30) night at the Tottenham Community Centre arena. North York came to Saturday’s game with a 4-3 record and both teams were trying to get the two points to move up in the standings.

The Alliston Junior C Hornets are back on the ice for the 2017/18. Things got under way Friday (Sept. 15) night when the Alliston squad hosted the Huntsville Otters at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre.

Organization receives $5,000 donation from The Nottawasaga Foundation

The Nottawasaga Foundation presented a cheque for $5,000 to Help The Kids Play (HTPK). HTPK is a community based organization that has been operating in the Tottenham, Beeton and surrounding areas since 2007 with the mandate to provide children with the funding to participate in a recreational activity, outside of regular school and home environments, where their parents / guardians are unable to do so.

Heritage Celebration brings players home

Looking around a packed room full of local residents, former residents, family and friends, it’s easy to see the impact that growing up in Beeton had on many people – especially those that were, and are a part of the town’s rich sports history. The Aug. 20 Beeton Heritage Celebration took place in the upstairs hall of the Community Centre and it was standing room only by the time everyone arrived.
