Alliston gymnasts bring home gold

Two Alliston Nikolettes Gymnasts recently received top honours in their respective disciplines. Ashlyn Christos, Artistic, Level 7 Age 16+ and Trisha Aube, Tumbling, Level 2 Age 15+ each earned gold at provincial championships. For Ashlyn this is back to back All Around Gold at Provincial Championships. Kendra Mainprize took home an All-Around Silver Medal in Artistic, Level 5 Age 12 and Reilly Giffen tumbled her way to a Bronze Medal in Tumbling, Level 2 Age 14 and Under.
In total the Alliston Nikolettes Gymnastics Club was represented by 13 Artistic Athletes, 4 Tumbling Athletes and 5 Trampoline Athletes. Each athlete earned the right to compete at the 2015 Provincial Championships. Our Artistic Athletes travelled to Windsor Ontario from April 8-12 and the Trampoline and Tumbling Athletes competed in Scarborough from April 9-12. Artistic coaches Rod Hounsell and Brenda Daly accompanied the artistic athletes to Windsor and Marty Shiffman took the Trampoline and Tumbling teams to Scarborough.
Provincial championships brings together the best athletes from across the province. Each of our athletes and coaches have a lot to be proud of as they did a wonderful job representing our local gym club.

Artistic Gymnastics:
Level 9 age 12/13 – Juliana Abas, 9th All Around, 4th Bars and 8th Floor
Level 8 age 14 – Camryn Gibson, 16th All Around, 3rd on Floor
Level 7 age 12/13 – Jocelyn Ruhl, 9th All Around and 3rd on Floor
Level 7 age 14/15 – Julia Bullied, 16th All Around, 8th on Vault and 7th on Beam
Level 7 age 16+ - Ashlyn Christos, All Around Provincial Champion, 1st on Bars, 4th on Vault, Beam and Floor.
Level 6 age 10 – Aubrey Kuhnen, 14th All Around, 6th on Vault
Level 6 age 12 – Amanda Baker, 14th All Around and 6thon Vault
Level 6 age 13 – Kate Beausaert, 24th All Around
Level 6 age 13 – Cassidy Metcalf, 26th All Around and 6th on Vault
Level 5 age 10 – Wren Picco, 21st All Around and 7th on Floor
Level 5 age 11 – Makenna Gooding, 5th All Around, 3rd on Bars, 4th on Beam and 6th on Vault and Floor
Level 5 age 11 – Sarah Medcalf, 4th All Around, 4th on Vault and Bars, 5th on Floor and 6th on Beam
Level 5 age 12 – Kendra Mainprize, All Around Silver Medalist, 1st on Beam, 2nd on Floor and 4th on Bars
Level 1 age 11/12 prelims – Gwen Hunt, 14th place
Level 2 age 14 & under – Reilly Griffen, Bronze Medalist
Level 2 age 15 & over – Trisha Aube, Provincial Champion
Level 4 – Rachel Nicoletto, 7th place
L1 age 9/10 – Keira Christos 8th place
L1 age 9/10 – Abigaelle Sylvain 11th place
L1 age 14 – Abby Foerster 9th place
L2 age 13/14 – Sarah Tobin 16th place
L2 age 13/14 – Kenna Iddison qualified but was scratched due to injury
Ashlyn Christos (Artistic), Trisha Aube (Tumbling), Reilly Giffen (Tumbling) and Rachel Nicoletto (Tumbling) will represent the Nikolettes' at the 2015 Eastern Canadian Championships in Moncton, New Brunswick.
