The Renegade Derby Dames (RDD) along with Alliston Junior Roller Derby (AJRD), are hosting another fun filled evening of full contact, high energy roller derby at the Alliston Memorial Arena on Saturday May 30.
In the first match up, RDD’s Bombshell Battalion will play their first home game of the season and battle it out with the Toronto D-VAS at 5 p.m. The Bombshells are up against a tougher more experienced team, however Bombshell coaches have been working with the team especially the new skaters, to build up their strength and skills.
Then at 7:30 p.m., AJRD’s Blister Sisters will take on “The World”; a team which is composed of several Level Two/Three Junior skaters from around the region. These young ladies are definitely something to watch out for, as a couple of the players have made the Team Canada Junior Roller Derby roster.
This licensed event is fun for all ages with concessions and merchandise on site. Arena seating is available, or bring your own folding chair and sit trackside. Also, New Tecumseth Mayor Rick Milne will be in attendance and will blow the first whistle of the demo jam of the first game.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Children nine and under are free. Doors open at 4 p.m. and first game starts at 5 p.m. A discount of $5 will be given at the door for everyone that brings non perishable food donations for the Good Shepherd Food Bank.
The official after party will take place after the second game at Hornets Nest Sports Grill located in the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre.
