Beeton Woods Legal Challenge Fund

Dear editor:
There are many worthwhile causes out there, some more glamorous and glitzy than others that attract the attention of different segments of our community for their own personal reasons.
None the less saving the Beeton woodlot may not appeal to some of those that can afford to turn out to the likes of our local hospital’s Gala Fundraising event where $455,000 has recently been raised our need for your support in the same manner is none the less as important and meaningful.
Like myself I encourage you, one and all of you that are expressing interest and concern for the environment and the future for your children to stand up and join you in this challenge. It is a very tidy sum of money to be raised but it is not as daunting a task if we all take up the task of supporting and collecting donations from each and all of us in Beeton and New Tecumseth that understand why we want and need to save our Beeton Woods.
Please join myself and these two fine leaders in this cause and raise money to save our trees.
Putting this in some political perspective, this and our previous Council committed us to the TCT and we are currently some $260,000 over budget and have spent close to $1 million on the project. Which was here first, the abandoned railway line or Beeton Woods.
Gordon McInnes,
New Tecumseth
