Tottenham Physiotherapy celebrates 1st year anniversary

August 6, 2015   ·   0 Comments

Tottenham Physiotherapy, owned by Daniela Fuliere, HBSc, MEd, MScPT, DPT, Yoga and Pilates Instructor, FIS, PTS, OAS, NWS, celebrated its first year anniversary on July 21st.
Although Fuliere has been practicing physiotherapy for over eight years, the Palgrave resident decided to purchase an existing practice in Tottenham, from Doug Fearman, in 2014 because, “it felt like home from the beginning”.
Tottenham Physiotherapy offers: physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage, laser therapy, acupuncture, home services, chiropody, TENS, urgent appointments, custom bracing – Donjoy and Ossur, pain management services, taping, decompression therapy, Usana vitamins, ADP assessments – manual and power devices, aquatic therapy, yoga and pilates and personal fitness training, as well as ultra sound healing.
“We touch every client that we see,” said Fuliere on her ‘hands-on’ approach. “Sometimes our clients won’t have anyone else that touches them that day, and that’s detrimental to the healing process. We care about your health, and we want to connect with you.”
The open concept practice has numerous stations and patient rooms. Often, clients will socialize and share experiences while waiting for treatment or after their session. There’s a lot to be learned from this open approach to healing.
Fuliere employs 14 staff members – double the amount from the previous practice – of which all are local residents, but one.
Her right hand, Johnathan Turiel, assists her and her clients. Sometimes in one session, clients will get attention from both physiotherapists – in this busy, yet organized clinic.
Fuliere says she “taught Turiel everything he knows”, as he studied under her during his co-op placement throughout school. And, since everyone uses the same techniques, the team at Tottenham Physiotherapy is able to serve clients efficiently, while maintaining a high level of care.
Outside of her practice, Fuliere has immersed herself in the culture of New Tecumseth, participating in and sponsoring many local events and charities including: Tottenham Old Timer Baseball League, Help The Kids Play, Michael Worrod Memorial Fund, and Tottenham Community Week.
Through her website, Fuliere describes herself as being:
“An energetic, dependable therapist with a strong commitment to promoting client well-being, quality of life and a healthy lifestyle. I am a firm believer in the power of “healing hands” and due to this have recently expanded my practice to include Therapeutic Touch, Soft Tissue Release, aquatic rehab and acupuncture. Demonstrating flexibility, adaptability and a love for learning, with an educational background I speak Italian and French thus widening my diversity. I have seized opportunity to work in acute and rehabilitation hospitals, in private and community practice with pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. I have also extended my practice into a wellness spectrum through more active therapy instruction both in a private and group realm. Friendly and confident, with a client-first attitude, I have been recognized consistently by supervisors as taking initiative to participate as a member of the rehabilitation team, quickly earning confidence and rapport with clients and staff. Resourceful, an excellent problem solver and communicator, I have effectively treated a diverse client base including those with orthopaedic, neurological and cardiorespiratory concerns both acutely and chronically. Using my education skills and background I have read, understood and imparted knowledge and information with all types of clients including geriatric and pediatric populations. With ongoing dedication to our evolving profession, I participate in research regarding the use of various physiotherapy techniques in managing Cerebral Palsy in Pediatric individuals and my doctorate research in Parkinson’s and exercise. It is my objective to combine both my master’s degrees in any physiotherapy setting that allows me to educate and assist others”.
Located in the Tottenham Medical Centre, Tottenham Physiotherapy is accepting new clients. They have evening and urgent appointments available, and offer direct billing to most insurance companies.
