Following the bylaws?

Dear editor:
Driving around the county, I have seen a number of Kellie Leitch campaign signs along the roads. At the same time, Liberal candidate Mike MacEachern has publicly announced that he will not be posting signs until September 7th, in accordance with County of Simcoe and municipal bylaws.
Dr. Leitch has already been called on this in Blue Mountain, where a municipal bylaw limits sign posting to 45 days before the election.
Her office, according to a statement to the Thornbury Paper on August 10th, said that, “Our campaign is very respectful of municipal bylaws…we are acting immediately…to ensure we comply with all regulations.”
Now, clearly, a federal cabinet minister couldn’t possibly be ignorant of the law. So, the presence of these new signs suggest to me that either Dr. Leitch’s team only follow bylaws after complaints or that they are now ignoring all bylaws, county and municipal.
