Tottenham resident in line for windfall

A Tottenham resident is among a group of 18 residents of the Greater Toronto Area and Simcoe County who are about to share a nice lottery jackpot.
Khamphone Khotakoune was one of 18 people holding a ticket that collected a second prize in the Aug. 6 Lotto 649 draw. The ticket holders are due to split a prize of $131,732.20.
As one of the group members is related to an employee at an Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) retail location, this prize falls within OLG’s definition of an “insider win.”
As of Friday, this prize claim has completed the first step of a two-step “insider wins” process, which is an independent prize claim review by a third-party, working in partnership with OLG’s regulator, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
To complete the process, this prize will be held for a 30-day waiting period in order for OLG to publicize the win. If there are no additional claims on this prize, it will be paid to the claimants Nov. 26.
The ticket was purchased at Daisy Mart on Cottrelle Boulevard in Brampton.
