Stevenson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Members Margaret Oliver, Susan Sparling, and Connie Vanstone celebrated the holiday season by collecting donations at the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the hospital.

The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary celebrated the holiday season at the hospital by hosting their annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Staff and the community shared an enjoyable evening with music provided by St. Paul’s Catholic School Glee Club, featuring the lighting of the hospital’s Christmas tree, and an appearance from Santa Claus the guest of honour, who arrived in a 1929 Fire truck, escorted by members of the Alliston Firefighters Association.
This year’s event raised $1,244 from generous donations that will directly support the Refurbish a Room Campaign, and improve patients’ comfort, privacy and ability to get some much-needed rest which is vitally important to their recovery. The Stevenson Foundation plans to refurbish all our patient rooms in the Medical-Surgical unit over the next few years, including replacing the window blinds, privacy curtains and tracks, bedside tables and beds.
The hospital’s Christmas Tree received new lights this year, which were donated by Alliston Home Hardware Building Centre and programmed by Greg Greene of Greene Contracting to give a magical light show during the evening.
The SMH Auxiliary and Stevenson Foundation would like to thank the community and local businesses for their generous contribution towards the success of this year’s Christmas Tree Lighting and wish everyone a wonderful holiday season.
