Eighteen make the ‘sunshine list’ in New Tecumseth

The Town of New Tecumseth has 18 staffers who earn $100,000 or more annually.
The salaries and taxable benefits of employees in the Ontario Public Service and the broader public sector who were paid $100,000 or more in 2016 were released last week. The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act requires public sector organizations to disclose, by March 31, the name, position, salary and taxable benefits of their employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.
Brendan Holly, CAO, earned $200,527 in 2016.
By comparison, King CAO Susan Plamondon earned $192,173.75.
Blaine Parkin, New Tecumseth’s deputy CAO, earned $163,572.
Next was Mark Sirr, treasurer, director of finance, who made $148,548.
John Miller, manager of building standards/chief building official, pulled in $134,166.
Director of Engineering Richard Vatri, made $133,416.
Following with $132,666.66 each were Chad Horan, director of public works; Daniel Heydon, director of emergency services/fire chief; Clerk Cindy Maher; Hilary Mccormack, director of human resources; Bruce Hoppe, director of planning.
Patrick D’Almada, director of parks, recreation and culture, made $126,625.
Douglas Austin, manager of capital engineering, earned $110,710 last year.
Pulling in $110,294 each were John Davis, manager of water and wastewater; Simon Worley, deputy fire chief, and Shawn Sweeney, deputy fire chief.
Mark Mccague, supervisor of parks and facilties, earned $103,731, while Darrel Knowlton, supervisor of roads, earned $102,415.
By comparison, nearby King Township had 11 staff members who made the civil servant “Sunshine List” in 2016.
Premier Kathleen Wynne earned $208,974 and Toronto Mayor John Tory earned $184,666 in 2016. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau earns roughly $340,000.
