Representatives of the Nottawasaga Foundation, including founder and chair, Lou Biffis, presented a cheque for $100,000 to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation board of directors. Following the cheque presentation, a celebration to honour the Nottawasaga Foundation’s 25 years of community service and $3.85 million raised for Stevenson to date, was held at the Nottawasaga Inn Resort. Funds presented were raised during the Foundation’s annual golf tournament, and act as the first installment of a $1 million pledge to support the “Transforming Stevenson Campaign” and redevelopment of the hospital.
“Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation wishes to congratulate the Nottawasaga Foundation for reaching a 25-year milestone. Stevenson recently launched a multi-year $8 million Transforming Stevenson Campaign and the Nottawasaga Foundation generously decided to mark their incredible 25-year milestone by presenting the hospital with a gift of $1 million towards this campaign, and redevelopment of the hospital,” said Elyse Martin, events & communications coordinator, SMHF. The Transforming Stevenson Campaign is the hospital’s first step to raising the funds needed to introduce new innovative technologies and critical equipment that is vital to the success of the future redeveloped hospital. The $8 million campaign has three major areas of investment; including the implementation of SHINE – One Patient, One Record (Shared Health Information Network Exchange), annual critical equipment needs, and redevelopment planning costs.
