The race to replace former Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown has quickly turned Ontario into the playing field of Canada’s biggest political Super Bowl going — something that wasn’t lost on Caroline Mulroney

Ms. Mulroney, the Progressive Conservative candidate for our neighbouring riding of York Simcoe officially launched her campaign for party leadership in the middle of Super Bowl Sunday, posting a video of herself and supporters hosting a party for the NFL’s biggest game of the year.

“I am here at my home in York Simcoe hosting a party for the Super Bowl with the amazing volunteers who have been knocking on doors with me since Day One and this is what we’ve been hearing: people in Ontario have had enough of this government,” said Ms. Mulroney in her video message. “They are looking for change. As a working mother of four, I worry about the future of our children in our province. Will there be good jobs here, or will they look elsewhere? We need to build the kind of Ontario that strives to give all of our children the opportunities they deserve. To do that, we need a government that actually cares about us, that focuses on affordability, economic growth and opportunity. I’m the only candidate that can bring that change – something different, forward looking and positive. Something new.”

Ms. Mulroney is the eldest child of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and his wife Mila.
