Three year residents of New Tecumseth, Millie and Nana Boateng, have realized their dream of bringing an international grocery store and beauty supply outlet to Alliston.
The Quest Market – Beauty Supplies and International Market' has opened its doors on Alliston's main street, and is ready for business.
“We've always wanted to do this,” said Millicent (Millie) Boateng, co-owner. “We found our location on July 2 of 2017, and have been renovating ever since.”
Millie and her husband, Nana, also the owners of Alliston Flooring, wanted to open both a grocery store and a beauty supply, but when they found the space at 19 Victoria Street W., they knew they could have it all.
Of course, among the required renovations was totally new flooring.
The Boatengs, former residents of the GTA, named the store “The Quest” due to the trek previously required to find grocery items for their family.
“Alliston is changing and the community is becoming more multi-cultural,” said Millie. “We felt this store would be a fit. And, now we don't have to travel anymore either.”
The Quest sells wigs, styling products, make-up, lashes, clip-in hair extensions, jewellery and offers some salon services. The rear of the store is loaded with groceries – with everything you need to prepare a delicious meal – from meat, to beans and lentils, to sauces and spices.
For more information email The Quest at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 705 250-3080. Business hours are Monday to Thursday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
