Cheryl Allin Boston, and her husband, Kevin Boston, hosted their sixth annual “Keanan Family Walk” on Easter Sunday, April 1.

In one day, $2,500 (and counting) was raised for the Alliston Early ON Child and Family Centre and satellite locations in Beeton and Tottenham. These funds will help offset the costs of healthy snacks for children attending the centres throughout the year and the amount raised has surpassed the fundraising goals of the event.

This year, 150 people attended the Walk – eager to support the Bostons and their foundation, Keanan Helps.

Named for their son, Keanan Allin Boston, who passed away in 2013 at just 21 months of age, the Walk is hosted annually on the Sunday nearest Keanan’s birthday.

“April 1 marks the start of Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Month,” said Keanan’s father, Kevin. “Keanan’s heart, liver and kidneys were donated and saved three lives.”

To date, Keanan Helps has raised more than $50,000 for Sick Kids Hospital and $16,000 for the Alliston Early ON Child and Family Centre.

“We are so thankful to our friends and family who braved the cold to be with us to celebrate Keanan on his birthday,” said Cheryl Allin Boston, Keanan’s mom.

The Bostons wish to thank the following sponsors/prize donors: Shelburne & Beeton Foodland, Alliston McDonald’s; Municipality of Adjala–Tosorontio; Canadian Tire; CCM; Under Armour; Pizza Pizza; Beattie’s Distillery; Wellington Brewery, Keogh Construction; Ontario Belting; Teresa Sue-Van Scheyndel; Jack Astor’s; Bonnie Parsons; The Circle Theatre; Dinoland Family Fun Centre; Elmvale Jungle Zoo; and Eilish Boston. Special thanks to The Times for media coverage.
