Safari Kids Indoor Playground in Alliston is now open!

The children’s paradise is filled with slides, ball pits, ladders, video games, and much more. Drop-in rates are: Age 0-3 $10, Age 4+ $12 – with siblings paying half price.

The business, owned by mother and daughter duo Cathy Sarracini and Laura Sist, officially opened on May 4, and is open 7-days a week, year-round.

“My daughter loves kids, and has a daughter of her own. We decided to open Safari Kids because we’ve always wanted to do something together, and the opportunity finally came up,” Sarracini told The Times. “Alliston is growing a lot and there are plenty of young families here. We found the right location and here we are now.”

Located behind Don’s Heating & Cooling, in the old Zellers warehouse space, Sarracini says its ironic that after having just retired from Zellers, after working for their Toronto head office for 40 years, she’s back in a Zellers space.

Safari Kids offers birthday party packages, available include: Slithering Snake, Monkeying Around, Hip Hop Hippo, Jumping Giraffe, Lion King of the Jungle. Additional food and party items can be added to any party package…and make it a jungle of fun!

“We will be offering 50 per cent off drop-in rates and 20 per cent off birthday party packages for the first month,” said Sist. “Come check us out to see what we have to offer, we are very excited to meet you.”

The Grand Opening, attended by local dignitaries including Town of New Tecumseth Deputy Mayor Donna Jebb, featured a barbecue, raffles, giveaways and more.

“We are proud to be a family-run business – and we are passionate about children’s development and the ‘learn through play’ motto,” said Sist. “I am a proud resident of New Tecumseth who has worked in social work for the last ten plus years. I have worked for many years with children and adults with disabilities and brain injuries. I have developed much patience and compassion for individuals with special needs. I recently had a child and quickly became aware of the importance of nurturing and supporting her development. I am a big believer in learning through play and the benefits associated with it.”

“My mother, Cathy Sarracini, is my co-owner [and] she is passionate about excellent customer service and her expertise will make your experience at Safari Kids a great one!” Sist adds. “We will work with you to accommodate any special requests you may have. If booking a birthday party, feel free to request special theming, décor or anything you think would make your child’s birthday extra special. We will always do our absolute best to make your child’s time with us memorable.”
