The 12th annual Kevin Lord Memorial Foundation golf tournament got underway at Bear Creek Golf Club in Innisfill on Saturday, May 26, with 115 golfers taking part.
“Every year, we are so thankful to everyone for their continued support for our family's efforts in raising money for two main organizations and various others in our son Kevin's memory,” said tournament organizer Al Lord. “A special thank you also to Bear Creek golf Club and all their staff for their great hospitality and the excellent barbecue steak dinner.”
The event raised $9,500 in support of the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada and Matthews house Hospice in Alliston. The Foundation has also donated to other worthy causes over the years.
Over the years the tournament has raised in excess of $100,000.
The tournament got underway at noon with a shotgun start.
As a special note, Matthews House Hospice will be holding their grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new ten-bed residential hospice building on Thursday, June 21.
