Extreme heat may have kept some revellers away from the Canada Day Party on Sunday, but the party rolls on through Sunday.

It’s Tottenham Community Week and there are plenty of free, fun, family-friendly activities to enjoy before the week is out.

On Thursday, July, the New Tecumseth Public Library will present their inaugural Cosy Music Family Concert, a fun-filled interactive concert for children and their families, from 10 – 11 a.m.

Thursday ends on a more adult note with the Local Yokel Pub Crawl, involving a number of local pubs and restaurants that would be happy to stamp your Tottenham Community Week Pub Crawl Passport. Completed passports are entered for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate from a participating pub.

Honda takes over Keogh Park on Friday night for the Honda Movie Night from 7 – 10.45 p.m. From 7 – 8.30 grab some ice cream while being entertained by the sounds of AJ the DJ. Entertainer Bex In Motion takes over from 8 – 9 p.m., with an exciting and interactive show. Then, at 9 p.m., it’s showtime with The Iron Giant.

The fun continues on Saturday with the Tottenham Street Festival, which takes place in Downtown Tottenham from 10 – 4 p.m. The Mill Street Fire Station will host a free pancake breakfast starting at 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. (or while supplies last) and once you’ve had your breakfast, free rides, games, live entertainment, face painting and more, start at 10 a.m., running through 4 p.m.

If you’re worried about the heat, don’t be – the New Tecumseth Fire Department will offer the World’s Greatest Sprinkler to keep you cool – courtesy of Aerial Truck 37.

Tottenham Community Week closes with a bang on Sunday, July 8, with a bumper crop of activities, ranging from the Family Fishing Derby at the Tottenham Conservation Area from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., the return of the Tottenham Horse Drawn Heritage Tour at Keogh Park from 2 – 4 p.m., Music in the Park at the same venue from 2 – 4 p.m., and, running all day, the Tottenham Classic Car & Truck Show.
