The Alliston Senior Athletics will wrap up the season this week with their final games.

The Athletics ended up second from last in the North Dufferin Baseball League standings so won’t make the playoffs this year.

Despite the less than stellar record, the squad did well in their third season in the Senior Division of the League where they were up against some veteran teams.

The team started off the season with an eight-game loosing streak before tying a game with the Lisle Astros.

They won their game 11-6 over the Barrie Angels back on June 17.

Going into the weekend the Ivy Leafs were leading the League with 44 points and a 22-1 record.

The New Lowell Knights were right behind them with a 20-2-1 record and 41 points meaning the final few games could mean a change in the lead depending on how things shake out.

In third place, the Bolton Brewers have had a strong season with an 18-3-2 record.

They are followed by the Clearview Orioles and the Orangeville Giants.

The Ivy Rangers, Midland Mariners, and Bolton Dodgers have all secured a playoff berth.

Once the final games are played out and the standings for the 2018 season are complete, the League will have a meeting on August 1, to sort out the final playoff schedule.
