CONTACT Community Services, a registered charity, has supported the people living in the communities of South Simcoe for the last 40 years.

Through events like the annual, Denim & Diamonds fundraiser, held this year at the Gibson Centre for Arts and Culture on Friday, September 28, CONTACT helps people fulfill their basic needs—shelter, safety, and belonging.

CONTACT addresses many areas of concern for its clients, including:

  • Employment: connecting people seeking to obtain meaningful work to employers, providing resume and skills training, and second career-specific upgrades and certifications.
  • Volunteerism: Volunteer South Simcoe, connects people to opportunities to strengthen their skill-sets and give back to local organizations that rely on volunteers to make their work possible.
  • Community Information: The CONTACT database connects people to resources that assist them with finding and navigating community resources.
  • Housing: CONTACT’s Housing Resource Centre provides support services to people who are experiencing, or who are at imminent risk of experiencing homelessness to help them secure and sustain safe housing.
  • Community Thrift Store: The Clothes Line, provides free and affordable items to South Simcoe’s residents, as well as volunteer opportunities for people from all walks of life.

The Denim & Diamonds dinner, dance and auction featured the band, Your New Neighbors, and catering by Cravings with all proceeds go to Contact Community Services.
