Shoppers fill the downtown for the annual Rurban Christmas Crawl

The Alliston Business Improvement Association hosted its annual Rurban Christmas Crawl on Thursday, November 8. Participating stores in the downtown core stayed open until 10 p.m., offering discounts, draws and delicious samples to early-bird holiday shoppers.

Several businesses took part, including:

Barb’s Clothes Closet – 124 Victoria St W: Tis The Season Part 1 – Frank Lyman Fashion Show

Bern’s Flowers & Gift – 122 Victoria St W: 10% off Christmas artificial arrangements, decorations and ornaments

Boston Pizza – 27 Young Street: Guys Night – food and drink specials

Champ Burger – 70 Victoria St E: $5 meal (tax incl) two all-beef mini sliders with small fries and small fountain drink

Clothz – 45 Victoria St E: store-wide sales and refreshments

Concession Road Mercantile – 96 Victoria St W.: festive food sampling and seasonal sales

Details – 46 Victoria St W.: chocolate fountain and “We Pay The Tax”

Herbert’s Boots and Western Wear – 85 Victoria St W.: In store contests

Home Décor and More – 29 Young St.: Food Drive – every food item donated gets you an entry into store giveaways and 10 per cent off any purchase in the store

Moko Home – 73 Victoria St W.: save the tax store wide and festive snacks and drinks

9 Lives Boutique – 60 Victoria St W.: PJ Party with hot chocolate, cookies and store wide sales

The streets were busy with shoppers, walking from store to store, and parking was at a premium for this amazing event.

Missed it? The Alliston BIA is hosting a second Christmas Crawl event on Thursday, December 6 – with stores in the downtown open until 10 p.m. once again.

But first, on Saturday November 24th, the Alliston BIA kicks-off the Rotary Night Lit Santa Claus Parade with festivities on Mill Street, including the lighting of the downtown Christmas Trees.
