The first baby of 2019 came a little late, but was, for sure, worth the wait.

Baby Hallie, born weighing 8 pounds 4 ounces arrived to proud parents Brittany Pollock and Chris Latouf on Thursday, January 3 at 7:52 a.m.

Born at Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) in Alliston, with the help of attending OBGYN Dr. Olupona along with nurses K. Hogendoorn, A. Woolridge, S. Luckman and K. Thompson, baby Hallie is the first baby for Brittany and Chris and the new parents couldn’t be happier.

Hospital staff, who waited for the first baby to be born in 2019 for three days, share in that joy.

“Stevenson Memorial Hospital is excited about our first baby of 2019,” commented Bridget Mitchell, Manager of Obstetrics and Peri-Operative Services. “All of our newborns are special, but it’s always exciting to welcome the first baby of each New Year. We’re honoured to help provide a memorable experience for this family and many others who choose to come to Stevenson Memorial Hospital for such a special occasion.”

Maintaining a one hundred per cent approval rating from patients, the OBGYN Department at SMH has delivered 447 babies over the past two years – the highest number of births at Stevenson in one year.

Additionally, there were 16 home birth delivered by midwives over the same time frame.

Congratulations Brittany and Chris and best of luck for 2019 with your new bundle!
