Annual Kevin Lord Memorial tournament supports several causes

The 13th annual Kevin Lord Memorial Foundation Spring Classic Golf Tournament will get underway at the Bear Creek Golf Club on Saturday, May 25.

The tournament has been held as a fundraiser in memory of Kevin Lord, a New Tecumseth resident and hockey and ball hockey player who passed away in 2006.

Over the past 12 years the Foundation has raised in excess of $125,000 in support of organizations such as The Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, Royal Victoria Hospital Cancer Centre, Matthews House Hospice and well and other worthy organizations, special charities and local families in need.

“Without the support of friends and family, this would never have been possible and we can’t thank everyone enough or continuing support our family and the Kevin Lord Memorial Foundation over the past 12 years in keeping true our motto, ‘Giving a helping hand in helping others,’ in memory of Kevin and we are definitely looking forward to another fun and successful tournament again this year,” said tournament director, Al Lord.

The tournament is open tot he first 144 registered golfers.

The entry fee is $150.00 per golfer or $600 per team and includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, steak dinner, a prize and also entry in the challenge hole contest.

A company or personal hole sponsorship is always appreciated at a cost of $100 or a sign with your company log or personal lettering.

Teams or individuals interested in entering this year’s tournament should plan to register by May 1, in order to secure a spot.
