On Saturday, April 6, children and local youth were invited to attend a release party for the book “Awaken Your Inner Hero: Volume One” featuring the stories of 50 Canadian children and their special gifts, as co-written by the children themselves. The launch was hosted by the Hero Intelligence Agency and Kimberlite Enterprises.

The event, held at the Nottawasaga Inn & Resort, celebrated both local youth and Awaken, a #1 Best Seller in eight categories, that has been compared to the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” book series – telling feel good stories at a high vibration and frequency.

Book organizers are: Jen Fitzpatrick (Founder of FEMM International and co-founder of the Hero Intelligence Agency); Tammy Vallieres (Co-Founder of the Compassionate Crew, the Compass of Life Social and Emotional Wellness Program); and Susan Howson (Founder of Kids Coaching Connections and Manifest Your Magnificence).

The trio came together to create a platform that, “celebrates young Canadian change-makers, innovators, advocates and community champions, to shine a spotlight on the unique gifts and insights each of these incredible kids contribute to our local communities and our overall national pride.”

Awaken is the first in a series of books that will support kids and ”YOUth” around the world – helping them to Awaken their own Inner Hero, making the world a better place.

The first book focused on kids and YOUth from across Canada. The next books will feature stories from around the world – beginning a framework of connections that could have an international impact.  “Awaken Your Inner Hero showcases the courage, resilience and tenacity of 50 YOUth heroes from across the country, and is a testament to the magnificence that children of all ages encompass.

“Participants were selected for creating a positive change within their home, school or community. Their stories will uplift readers’ hearts and minds, and provides a reassuring preview of what are sure to be the voices of Canada’s future leaders,” reads a press release.

Local YOUth Heroes are featured as co-authors in the book, sharing their personal stories of resilience, courage, compassion and hope.

“Reading stories of youth who take photos of homeless people to create awareness, are invited to the Royal Wedding, as well as who advocate for clean water makes me wonder what I was possibly doing with my time at their age,” said Jen Fitzpatrick, Co-Founder.

Featured alongside these community champions, are mentors, teachers, coaches and influencers, including Founder and CEO of the Rick Hansen Foundation, Rick Hansen. Sharing his thoughts on the book, Hansen said, “Awaken Your Inner Hero is a rich tapestry of stories that prove our future is bright with young difference makers. As a father, and now grandfather, I look forward to sharing these stories of infinite possibilities and positivity with my family!”
