The fourth annual Tottenham Beeton & District Chamber of Commerce (TBDCC) Home Show & Artisan Market took place at the Tottenham Community & Fitness Centre on Saturday, April 13.

The event was well attended and 30 vendors setup booths, including the new for 2019 Virtual Reality Zone and enhanced Kidzone area, hosted by Dinoland.

Members of the Tottenham Steam hockey team also welcomed people at the door.

Although free to attend, donations of cash and non-perishable food items for the Our Town Food Bank, serving Tottenham and Beeton, were accepted.

“We brought in $250 in cash and approximately sixty pounds in food donations for the food bank,” confirms TBDCC president, Jennifer Gilbert.

Town of New Tecumseth representatives Mayor Rick Milne, Deputy Mayor Richard Norcross, and Ward 8 (Tottenham) Councillor Alan Lacey were in attendance.

“The Chamber would like to thank everyone who attended, all the vendors and sponsors and the Tottenham Steam hockey players for helping out at the door,” said Gilbert

The TBDCC had previously hosted an annual Trade Fair some years ago, but the event was abandoned. It was revived in 2016 to coincide with the growth in Tottenham and Beeton, and to encourage a “shop local” mindset.

The re-branded “Home Show & Artisan Market” was launched in 2018 to attract a broader range of vendors.

If you missed the Home Show, but want to know about the TBDCC, mark your calendar: Chamber Connections, April 24 at Beattie’s Vodka, 6 p.m. Open to all businesses in New Tecumseth.
