The annual – and highly anticipated – Tottenham Community Week took place between July 1 and 7, 2019.

Tottenham Community Week is a multi-day celebration of family and community spirit, held annually in the week surrounding Canada Day.

A week packed with a variety of activities, this event offers something for everyone and provides a fun opportunity for both locals and visitors to enjoy the charming town of Tottenham.

This event is made possible through the support of volunteers and sponsors, and the participation of the community.

TCW was created and is managed by the Tottenham Community Program Association, an Ontario not-for-profit corporation that was created for and is dedicated to celebrating life in Tottenham.

The Corporation’s Board of Directors is comprised entirely of volunteers, who donate their time, effort and expertise to design an event that brings people together, and creates memories to last a lifetime.

This year’s event line-up included:

• McGoey Brothers Insurance Brokerage TCW Trivia Takedown. Winners: The Quizzly Bears; Second place team: Agatha Quiztie; Third Place: Quizknows.

• Tastes and Tunes, organized by Roman Dasek, featuring artists: Adam Parsons Project, Duality, Meagan Anne and Acoustic Soul

• 2K Fun Run and 5K Run, organized by team lead Andrea Elmhirst. “A huge thank you to the fantastic local businesses that donated prizes for the run – A Taste of Freedom Country Inn, The Barber Shop, Classique Espresso Bar & Cafe, Airport Pizza Tottenham, and Pure Impact Fitness, your generosity is greatly appreciated!”

Thanks also went out to Tottenham Foodland for donating food and water for the run, at the Tottenham Conservation area; Tara Vavala of Pure Impact Fitness led the warm ups; and the Tottenham Firefighters brought the “world’s greatest sprinkler” to cool off the runners – a pump truck.

• Honda Movie Night under the stars, at Keogh Park, featuring “The Lego Movie Two”, with an open house at the adjacent Tottenham Fire Station.

• Street Festival, including free games, rides, entertainment, face painting, vendors, and a chance to visit local businesses and celebrate life in Tottenham.

• Mill Street Dance Party at Feeb’s Pub & Grill – with great food, cold drinks, and live entertainment, including: Brian and Susan Good, Megan Anne, The Release, white Shark, and Cardinal Street.

• Horse drawn wagon rides, leaving from Keogh Park. A fun and interesting horse drawn heritage tour of Tottenham.

• Ghost Tours – a guided, historic ghost walk bringing out the vivid, creepy ghosts of Tottenham’s most haunted homes and paranormal sites. Family friendly walk, and super scary adult walk.

“The Tottenham Community Week Committee would like to thank everyone who came out and participated in our events. We work hard all year to bring this event to life, and we’re so thrilled to see people enjoying themselves. Thank you, and see you next year!

“Thank you to all of the volunteers who came out and generously donated their time and effort to make this week possible. Many hands build a community!”
