The Beeton–Tottenham Business Improvement Association (BTBIA) hosted its 11th annual ‘Frightfully Fun Family Event’ along the main streets of Tottenham and Beeton on Saturday, October 26.

During the four hour event, businesses in the downtown cores shelled-out candy, or hosted fun stations, and welcomed costume clad ghosts and ghouls (err…local children) into their stores.

This year the BTBIA also hosted a Kids Magic Show at DA Jones Branch of the New Tecumseth Public Library (Beeton) and had stilt walkers and costumed characters walking around the towns.

Back by popular demand was the Pumpkin Contest, were carved Jack-o-Lanterns were brought to the 4-corners in Tottenham, or the library in Beeton, for public judging in three categories: funny, scary and stencil.

“The Frightfully Fun Family Event is a great community event to promote shop local and to meet and greet with your local businesses,” said Susan Iacoucci, BTBIA coordinator. “Families love this event and the businesses love to get to know the community and welcome the dressed up kids with treats or games. Support local and shop local because local supports the community.”

The event was a great success for the BTBIA, with hundreds of children, and their families, participating.
