The TNT Express Bantam team will go to Brantford this weekend to play in the Ontario Football League fall championship game.

Mel Mitchell Athletic Field in Beeton hosted the Express semi-final playoff game against the Hamilton Jr. Tiger Cats on Saturday, November 1, with an 11:00 a.m. opening kickoff.

It was a cold day with a steady wind across the field but that didn’t slow down the action.

The Express got off to a good start and were leading 22 – 8 at half time.

TNT’s Matthew McDonald scored the opening touchdown.

Austin Radzio and Dominic Plaunt both got first half TDs.

McDonald also ran in for two – two-point converts.

On defence the Express played a solid game with Jacob Clark, Dominic Kettela, Anna Marsala, Jordan Thompson and Logan Wolfe doing a good job in hold back the Tiger Cats.

On offence, Dominic Plaunt, Dayton Pring, Jordan Thompson, Quintin Junner, and Ty Thompson all had good games.

The Express returned for the second half and did a good job on the gridiron with solid running to make it down field and get a good field position.

The final was a 48 – 20 win or the Express in their final home game of the year.

The team had a 3 – 5 record this season and finished in fifth place in the eight-team league.

The Saturday win means the Express will now go to Branford for a chance to play for trophy.
