Town puts forward more measures to support the business community

New Tecumseth Council is making efforts to support the business community through the COVID-19 pandemic.

At last Monday night’s regular Council meeting, Ward 6 Councillor Stephanie MacLellan brought a motion forward to support local businesses who are facing challenges getting their products and services to market.

The motion asks Town staff to report back to Council at its next meeting with options on how to best retool the Community Improvement Plan (CIP) Grant Program to assist local businesses in pivoting towards the virtual/online marketplace.

It also stated that staff will provide a complete listing of current reserve balances as an “Additional Information Memorandum to Council” at its next meeting for consideration.

The motion was supported unanimously by Council.
