November 6, 2020   ·   0 Comments

The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) kicked off a four-month 50/50 draw series November 1, in support of the Hospital’s redevelopment.

The draw will take place each month from November 2020 to February 2021.

Each draw starts on the first day of the month, with ticket sales closing the last Thursday of each month. Tickets are 5 for $10, 20 for $20 or 100 for $40.

With the start of the holiday season, the SMHF is creating ways for the community to get engaged in supporting the Hospital’s Capital Campaign, Because of you, we can that are fun and accessible for everyone.

This is the largest and most significant campaign in the Foundation’s history to date, and the need for the community’s support could not be more critical.

Without a redevelopment since 1964 and a population that continues to grow in our community and surrounding areas, the time is now to support our community Hospital.

“The success of Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s redevelopment is contingent on the community’s commitment to raising the $30 million local share required,” says Tanya Wall, Executive Director, SMHF. “It’s going to take everyone from corporate donors to families to support our local Hospital to make sure it receives the redevelopment it desperately needs – for our community today and for future generations.”

The $167 million redevelopment project includes a revitalized Emergency Department, doubling the square footage of the Hospital and tripling the amount of parking space. Refreshed outpatient rooms, birthing suites and laboratory space are also included in the plans. The Ministry of Health requires local communities to make a commitment and raise a portion of the funds needed for hospital redevelopment projects.

Tickets for the 50/50 draw can be purchased online at www.transformingstevenson.ca The first draw will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 with future draw dates set at January 4, January 29 and February 26, 2021. Winning ticket numbers will be posted on the website as well as the SMH Foundation’s social media channels.
