Parking restrictions in effect for the winter

December 18, 2020   ·   0 Comments

The recent snowfall should remind everyone that when it snows, Town plows will be out clearing the streets.

The Town is putting the word out to vehicle owners that to facilitate street maintenance including snow clearing/removal, parking is prohibited on all streets between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.

This is pursuant to By-Law 93-128, s.10.

Vehicles parked on the streets between those hours will be ticketed and, should it be necessary to removed the vehicle, the owner will be charged with the cost of removal.

The By-Law is in effect whether it is snowing or not.

Parking on the street where and when prohibited will result in a $35 fine that must be voluntarily paid within ten days.

If the fine is not paid within ten days, the set fine will increase to $52.50.

Parking on the street during restricted hours will hamper snow crews’ ability to get the job done and clear the streets.

The Town will not be liable for any damage to vehicles by street maintenance equipment parked on Town streets during those hours.

The By-Law is in effect through to April 15, 2021.
