County hosts virtual seminar on building diverse workforce

The County of Simcoe will host a virtual seminar on how cultural awareness and diversity helps enrich workplaces, increase productivity, and attract and retain talent.

The virtual seminar will take place on March 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Keynote speaker Tina Varughese, president of tWorks will deliver a presentation on the advantages of cross-cultural communication in your organization.

There will be a panel of global and local leaders who will speak to their experiences in leading diverse teams and how it has elevated their overall business.

The Sandbox Centre will also explain its new Equity, Diversion and Inclusion Pilot Program that will be launching in April 2021.

The event is free for anyone who would like to take part, but you must register in advance to be a part of it. Once registered, you will be given details on how you can participate.

The event is being presented by the County of Simcoe, member municipalities, the Cities of Barrie and Orillia, the Province of Ontario, the Sandbox Centre, the Small Business Centre of Barrie, the South Georgian Bay Small Business Enterprise Centre, Nottawasaga Futures, North Simcoe Community Futures Development Corporation and the Centre for Business and Economic Development, Georgian College and Lakehead University.
