Essa asks for report on mobile home park connection to township water

Essa council has asked for a report from its public works manager on a request to hookup an Angus area mobile home park to the municipal water system.

Council received a request last week from the new owners of the Shamrock Mobile Home Park for the hookup.

The park is located just south of Angus, east of County Road 10. It currently has its own water system.

“I can see why they’re looking at hooking up to our municipal system. It’s increasingly expensive and time consuming to meet Ministry of Environment requirements,” said Essa Township Mayor Terry Dowdall.

The township’s current municipal water line is located just north of Willoughby Road.

The Alliston to Collingwood water pipeline does have an connection near the park but a water treatment plant would have to be built to process the water.
