On April 26th, the Nottawasaga OPP were alerted that a 15 year old male was driving a motor vehicle in the town of Beeton.
Nottawasaga officers arrived and set up at different locations searching for the underage driver. Officer noticed the vehicle travelling eastbound on Main Street and activated the emergency lights; the vehicle failed to stop for police and continued to drive in a dangerous manner through the town. Police received more information that the motor vehicle was involved in a collision damaging the front end of the cruiser.
Police located the 15 year old male from the Town of New Tecumseth, he was arrested and held for a bail hearing on April 27th, in Newmarket.
The male who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) is charged with the following offences: Dangerous Driving; Fail to Stop for Police; Fail to Remain at the Scene of the Accident; Take Motor Vehicle without Consent; Mischief; Drive No License contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
