The Nottawasaga OPP received information that a male wanted on charges stemming from an April 26th occurrence. He was observed at a Barrie area high school on April 30.
Police participated in a search for the young male, setting up containment of the Holly Meadows area in Barrie. Barrie OPP, Nottawasaga OPP and the Barrie City Police Canine Unit were all involved in ensuring a successful arrest, with the male now in custody.
Charged is a 17 year old Town of New Tecumseth resident, he is charged with Assault, Forcible Confinement, Utter Threats to Cause Death and four counts of Mischief under $5000. The male is considered a young offender under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) and therefore his identity shall not be released. The male was held for a bail hearing in a Barrie Court on April 30th.
