Shoes for Haiti

January 15, 2016   ·   0 Comments

How would you feel if you or your children were playing soccer, came off the field and then removed your shoes to share with another player. During the wet season, while walking barefoot outside, you picked up a parasite called bilharzia.
This is a common occurrence in Haiti, a country devastated by earthquakes, hardship and corruption.
Let’s focus on the positive. “Sports Shoes for Haiti” is collecting new or clean running shoes for all ages which will be delivered to Haiti on January 25th by Kim and Gerry from Natural Choice health store.
You can drop off new or clean used running shoes until January 22nd at the following places:
• Home Hardware in Alliston
• Alliston’s Attic – 39 Victoria Street West
• Alliston Community Christian School – 4428 Adjala/Tecumseh Townline
Every large suitcase delivered costs about $50, so small donations are also welcome. For more information call Janet 705 435-4355.
