The Alliston Coyotes moved into first place in the Greater Metro Hockey League central division with back to back wins.
The squad travelled to Orangeville on Wednesday, September 16, to take on the Ice Crushers at the Alder Street arena.
After two periods of play the game was tied at one after the Coyotes opened the scoring in the first period and Orangeville got the only second period goal.
The Coyotes goal came from Vasilii Zhizhenkov.
Returning for the final period the Ice Crushers took a short lived lead but the game was again tied when Austin Cunningham scored for Alliston less than a minute later.
Two more Coyotes goals from Frederik Sury and Kaleb Rossel gave the Coyotes 4–2 lead with just over four minutes remaining.
The Ice Crushers managed a late game goal but couldn’t get back into the game and the Coyotes left with a 4–3 win.
The squad returned to home ice at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre the following night, Thursday, September 17, to host the Grey Highlands Bravehearts.
This time the Coyotes dominated the game in the early going scoring five unanswered goals in the first period.
The Bravehearts fought back in the second period scoring three but the Coyotes matched them to make it an 8–3 game with one period to go.
The Coyotes pulled away in the final frame outscoring Grey Highlands 5–3 to end the game 13–6.
It was win number three for the Alliston squad after three games into the season placing the Coyotes in the number one spot in the 11 team division.
The Coyotes will return to home ice on Thursday, September 24, when they will host the Kinghts of Meaford.
The puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
