New Tec’s Hutchison appointed vice-chair of Catholic School Board

New Tecumseth resident Janice Hutchison has a place of prominence following the inaugural meeting of the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board last week.

At the first meeting of the 2018 – 2022 Board Term last Wednesday night, Carol Corriveau-Truchon was acclaimed as Chair while Ms. Hutchison took her place as Vice Chair.

“I am honoured and humbled for the vote of confidence from my fellow trustees,” said Ms. Hutchison. “I look forward to serving the students and families in our 50 school communities and working closely with staff and my colleagues on the Board of Trustees to contribute to the betterment of Catholic education in our province.

Janice Hutchison represents Essa, Essa-CFB, Adjala-Tosorontio, Adjala-Tosorontio-CFB, New Tecumseth and has been a trustee with the Board since 2014. This is Janice’s second term with the Board of Trustees and her first as Vice-Chair. 

She and her husband are 28-year residents of New Tecumseth. Their three children attended Father F.X. O’Reilly Catholic School and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School.

Carol Corriveau-Truchon represents Huntsville, Muskoka Lakes, Lake of Bays, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Georgian Bay and Parry Sound.

Carol was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2010. This will be her third year serving as Chair of the Board.

She lives in Bracebridge with her husband Gilles. She has four children who all graduated from St. Dominic Catholic Secondary School in Bracebridge.
