Conservation Area campsites can now be booked on-line

The Tottenham Conservation Area is a popular place for both day-trippers and campers.

The Town of New Tecumseth has launched a new online feature to allow users to reserve campsites.

“We have been working diligently to increase our online presence,” said New Tecumseth Mayor Rick Milne. “We are now excited to announce the next phase of our PerfectMind program with the launch of our on-line booking component which will allow residents and visitors to book select campsites at the Tottenham Conservation Area through this software on our website.”

A new user-friendly software called “PerfectMind” allows members and residents to set up a user account and sign up for programs, drop-ins, as well as reserve time at fitness centres and indoor walking tracks.

The online booking tool makes it easy and convenient for residents and visitors to view site amenities including images of each site, dimensions, availability, and to book reservations.

The Town plans to continue building the site to allow for booking of additional facilities in the future.

The Conservation Area is situated on 41 acres of picturesque parkland overlooking the pond.

Amenities include camping facilities for both tents and RVs, a sandy beach, playgrounds, nature trails, pavilions, and an 18- hole disc golf course.

Be sure to check ahead if you want to book a campsite.

The Conservation Area will be opening on May 21, however due to COVID restriction there are limits on the number of people allowed.

There will be a decreased capacity this summer including the number of available campsites.

You can reserve a campsite for up to seven consecutive nights.

It is mandatory that all season and short-term rentals be pre-booked in advance. Drop in bookings will not be permitted.

Also note that some amenities, including showers, may not be available due to COVID-19 restrictions.

You can view the website to book a facility by visiting www.newtecumseth.ca/camping.
