Adjala-Tosorontio residents who failed to pay for their dog tags will be receiving a visit from township staff.
Township council learned last week that the township sold 1,390 dog licenses during the first six months of 2013. It compares to 1,463 during the same period of 2012.
Karl Korpela, Director of Building and Bylaw Enforcement, said that residents who bought licenses last year but did not buy them this year, will be receiving the visit from township staff. The township took in $30,173.50 in license fees so far this year.
During the second quarter of the year, the township had 34 complaints about dogs and had 17 dogs impounded. The complaints ranged from excessive barking to dogs running loose and dogs biting people.
