Bo Niederhuber, president of the Beeton–Tottenham Business Improvement Association (BTBIA) accepts one of the 20 entries for the 1st Annual Great Big Bee Contest Saturday at the BTBIA office in Tottenham. The contest offers three top prizes of $2,000, $1,000 and $500 to local artists who created an art piece featuring bees. The submissions will be revealed at the Beeton Honey & Garden Festival this Saturday (May 25th) in front of the Muddy Water Hotel where festival goers can vote for their favorites. The winners will be permanently displayed throughout Beeton. “We’ve gotten everything from stained glass, to recycled art. Copper, mosaic and wood,” said Niederhuber, who would not allow the art to be photographed until the big reveal on Saturday. Visit the BTBIA booth at the Honey Festival this Saturday (from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) on Main Street Beeton. Tickets for this years highly anticipated ‘Flavours in The Field’ (Aug. 17th) will be available from BTBIA representatives starting this Saturday as well.
