On Wednesday, September 17, members of the South Simcoe Police Street Crime Unit raided an Innisfil home and arrested five men.
Armed with a search warrant, officers went to 2111 Lockhart Road, where they uncovered a sophisticated outdoor marijuana grow operation. The marijuana had been planted in pots and tended in a field, surrounded by a high fence and away from public view. Officers located numerous surveillance cameras on the property. Over 400 large marijuana plants were seized along with a small amount of dried product and a quantity of growing equipment. All five men were later released to an October court date and non-association conditions. The plants have been taken for destruction. The street value of the marijuana is still being assessed.
