The 2014 Mandarin Walk for Multiple Sclerosis took place on Sunday, May 4th at Banting Memorial High School in Alliston and was a huge success with more than 150 registered walkers. Prior to the walk, teams assembled for a group picture, shouting, “End MS!!!” Although the MS Walk is non-competitive fundraiser, some participants challenged themselves by running the 5km route. Coming in 1st Place was Geoff McCormack (second from right) with a time of 20 minutes. Second to cross the finish line was Brodie Gabrek with a time of 28 minutes (pictured far right). These teammates were running for Kim Boyd and her team, ‘Kim’s Hope for a Cure’. Tied for third place were Ryan Chisholm and Erik Reiter with a time of 35 minutes. They were running for Erik’s mom Laura Reiter, and her team ‘Find A Cure’. Reiter has MS herself.
