Alliston Welcome Wagon – providing comfort

March 13, 2013   ·   0 Comments

Moving into a new neighborhood can be intimidating, and hard for everyone who is involved. New neighbors, community, churches, and schools can be a hard adjustment. Becoming comfortable with the new surroundings, and dealing with change can be a difficult task.  People move for many different reasons, and the people of Welcome Wagon set out to make to make your switch to the new community easy as it can be. Since 1930 Welcome Wagon has made moving into Canadian communities easy, comfortable, and exciting. One of Welcome Wagons greatest members, Tracie Kennedy, has eased the move to the Alliston area for many individuals, and families.

Tracie joined Welcome Wagon in 1996, and realized how helpful the organization can be for people who are new to a community. Tracie made an immediate impact, helping promote the importance of Welcome Wagon within small and expanding communities. The ‘Welcome Basket’ contains important information, including promotional items from local businesses. Civic information regarding transit, waste collection, the library, and the local recreational centre are important for anyone in a community, especially new members. Tracie has helped numerous families with their moves, and they’re all extremely grateful, “people are very appreciative of what they’re getting, and what we can offer”. Having a member of your new community welcome you, is thoughtful, but a personal letter from the Mayor goes above and beyond what anyone expects. Welcome Wagon strives to make individuals comfortable with their new community, and Tracie has been recognized for her efforts within Alliston.

Throughout her 17 years with Welcome Wagon, Tracie has won six awards for her dedication and perseverance. Her hard work has helped hundreds of individuals make Alliston their new home, and ease the transition for them. Tracie has constantly been developing Welcome Wagon’s presence throughout Alliston, encouraging over 40 local businesses to be involved with the Welcome Basket. Alliston has expanded significantly in recent years, and Tracie has been busier with each year that passes. Tracie not only helps new members of Alliston, but existing ones as well. She focuses on making everyone in Alliston comfortable life changes, providing packages for brides-to-be, expecting parents, retirees, and new executives.
