The Banting Memorial Highs School Marauders girls flag football teams are dominating the Simcoe County Athletic Association season.

Both the junior and senior teams finished in first place and both teams are undefeated.

The Junior team has an 8-0 record including their 32-0 quarter-final AAA win over Eastview Secondary School from Barrie. That game was played on Friday, Oct. 21, on Banting home turf.

The Banting Juniors have been outstanding in all games and have blanked their opponents in five of the eight games played this season.

The Banting Junior team has a lot of speed and they are hard to stop once they are in a sprint.

If they are successful in their semi-final game they will go on to the championship.

The Banting Senior team has also had a stellar season. They finished in first place as an undefeated team with a 7-0 regular season record.

They won their quarter-final playoff game 46-6 over Maple Ridge Secondary School, then won their semi-final game 13-6 over Nantyr Shores, to earn the right to go to the SCAA final, scheduled for Oct. 25.

The results of that game were not available at press time.
