Barb’s Clothes Closet of Alliston opened its doors in May of 1985.
Over 30 years later the women’s fashion clothing store is still providing the greater South Simcoe area with the same great service, quality and classic wardrobe pieces.
Barb’s Clothes Closet of Alliston was purchased in March of 1993 by Mike and Terri Jerry.
“Our first location allowed only 900 square feet of retail space. The last decade has seen remarkable growth and vision. We have grown into our newest location at 124 Victoria St. W. in Alliston, to provide our customers with over 3000 square feet of fantastic fashions,” said Terri. “Featuring top designer brands including Tribal, Point Zero, Frank Lyman and Joseph Ribkoff, come in and discover our unique blend of great fashions you won’t see anywhere else.”
A local employer, member of the Alliston Business Improvement Association and supporter of “all things local”, Barb’s is also an amazing place to work.
“At Barb’s we are fortunate to have a wonderful, talented group of employees, each bringing a unique and special background to the sales floor. Our fortune is to have long term employees that have become extended family to each other and our valued loyal customers,” said Terri.

The store is open Monday to Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.; Thursday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 4 p.m.
“Barb’s is celebrating 30 years in business. This is a milestone and we attribute it to our long time dedicated staff and loyal customers. Over the years Barb’s has delivered uniqueness, value and service to its clientele. We have been successful despite downturns in the economy, outlet malls and online stores.”
Mike and Terri still believe service is the heart of their business and understand the importance of knowing their customers needs.
“We feel that our product knowledge and variety gives us an advantage over ‘big box stores’. We are firmly planted in the community and believe in giving back. We want our town core to be viable as this is what attracts more people to town. I get excited when you can’t find a parking spot downtown, that means we are a busy, happening place,” said Terri. “Barb’s strives to provide its ever growing clientele with fashions that are unique, comfortable and affordable.”
Congratulations Barb’s Clothes Closet on 30 wonderful years serving the community of Alliston and beyond!
