Bed Races in Alliston

Brisco’s Mattress World will host ‘Bed Races’ in Alliston on Saturday June 22nd from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This is the preliminary weekend, with the finals taking place during the Alliston Potato Festival weekend.
Racers must be ready to go by 10:30 a.m. and beds can be provided. First prize is $1000, second prize is $500 and 3rd place is $200 with the prize money donated to a charity of their choice.
Rules:
1. Each team will consist of five members: one rider and four pushers. Teams are encouraged to dress in team costumes.
Team members must 18 years old or above. All team members must sign a waiver of liability.
2. Teams must be ready at the corner of Church and Victoria no later than 10:30 a.m. Race time is 11 a.m. sharp.
3. Pushers must not interfere with opponents in any way during the race and must conduct themselves according to the highest standards of sportsmanship. Violating this rule may result in disqualification.
4. The use of helmets and other protective gear are strongly encouraged for all team members.
5. All team members must cross the finish line with their bed.
6. Decisions made by Race Officials are final.
