Beer Pong designated as municipally significant

Council has approved a request of the Foul Balls Softball Team to designate their annual Beer Pong Tournament as a Town-sanctioned event of municipal significance to assist the organization in obtaining a Special Occasion Permit for a Provincial Liquor Licence.
The Foul Balls Softball Team have agreed to comply with all the requirements of the Parks and Recreation Department (alcohol is not permitted in the washrooms, hallways and only within designated areas of the stands to obtain this standing).
The Pong Tournament will be held at the Alliston Memorial Arena on Saturday, August 10, in conjunction with the Alliston Potato Festival Weekend and alcohol will be served on the second floor from 1 – 5 p.m.
This is the 5th Annual Beer Pong Tournament hosted by the softball team. For the tournament, the not-for-profit group will play with water (not beer). All proceeds will be donated to charity.
