Although Beeton made it into the Top 16, the home of the ‘Beeton Stingers’ was eliminated from the competition on Saturday (March 15th) and did not make the Top 2 in the Eastern Bracket – beat out by voting communities in Kingston, NS and Bedeque, PE.
These two Eastern Bracket arenas, faced off against two Western finalists – Sylvan Lake, AB and Salmon Arm, BC. Voting to determine the Top 2 closed on March 17th and at press time the winners had not yet been posted to the Kraft Hockeyville website, however both communities will win $100,000 in arena upgrades and will face off for the Kraft Hockeyville 2014 title.
Final voting to determine the overall winner will begin on March 22 at midnight at krafthockeyville.cbc.ca – when the Top 2 communities will also be revealed.
In addition to the $100,000 upgrade, the grand prize winning community will also receive a 2014–15 NHL® Pre-Season Game and a visit from CBC.
