157th Annual Beeton Fall Fair – President’s Message
On behalf of the 2013 Executive Directors, Associate Directors, members and Volunteers of the Beeton and District Agricultural Society I would like to welcome you all to our 157th Fall Fair, a cultural tradition that we can all be proud of.
This year’s theme for the 157th Beeton Fall Fair is ‘Today’s Farmer’. Over the years, farming has changed, more monoculture crops and state of the art equipment. The farming industry has changed significantly, especially in our area. More farmers are only producing crops or they have gone into large production livestock farming. Although we have large industry farms we are also seeing a huge demand for the small one on one selling from farm to the gate, back to the farm. The organic or back to natural farming is on the rise. There is a great demand for knowing where your food comes from and also buying local produce is important.
Thank you to our sponsors, members, volunteers and exhibitors. We really appreciate your dedication and support.
I hope to see everyone come out and enjoy our Fair.
RJ Mayberry, President, Beeton & District Agricultural Society
