Beeton family triumphant at ‘Try–A–Triathlon’

On Saturday, June 21st, Alan Masters along with daughter Amanda Rij and friend Craig Butler, entered the Subaru Mini Try a Triathlon at Guelph Lake. Mandy challenged Craig and her dad into competing in this year’s event after entering in the same event and doing well last year. This year she beat her best time and Craig and Alan did very well for their first time with Alan extremely surprised and pleased to be awarded a 3rd place bronze medal in the 60 plus class. It was a great family event for all ages, held on a beautiful day at the picturesque Guelph Lake Conservation Park. The Try a Tri offers an entry level for anyone into triathlons and consists of a quarter mile swim, followed by a 10km bike ride and a 2.5km run. The weekend also offered other athletic events including a full Olympic Triathlon. What a great event for Tottenham to host at their conservation park next year?
