Alliston’s downtown core is getting a facelift. Two dilapidated buildings, located at 66 and 76 Victoria Street West, are being torn down after years of neglect. Demolition of the buildings, which haven’t been occupied for 7 and 13 years respectively, is now underway – and as bricks fall, the stench of mould is filling the air at the site. The Town, issued an ‘Order To Remedy Unsafe Building’ permit on March 18th to the owner – 2054673 Ontario Inc. – and are looking into a site accident, in which a portion of the safety fencing surrounding the building at 66 Victoria Street W. fell on a parked SUV.
